CBC-UV: present at the Valencia Digital Summit 2022

On October 25 and 26, 2022 the Chair of Conversational Business of the University of Valencia (CBC-UV) participated in the event held at the Science Museum of the City of Sciences and Arts of Valencia, the Valencia Digital Summit (VDS). This is the presentation of the international competition for startups in Valencia, the technological event of reference in the Comunitat that this year celebrated its fifth edition.

This event is an international meeting point for entrepreneurs, startups, investors and corporations, such as the Generalitat, the Diputació and the City Council, which collaborate in the technological event. The courtyard of the Palau dels Scala of the provincial corporation hosted the presentation as part of Startup Europe Week, in a ceremony attended by the Vice President of the Diputació, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, the Councillor for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the City of Valencia, Pilar Bernabé, and the CEO of Startup Valencia, Nacho Mas.

On the Ecosystem Stage, during the afternoon of the first day of the event, the CBC-UV team, represented by José Pérez, Strategy Director, and Luis Martín, Conversational AI R&D Manager, together with one of the top collaborators of CBC-UV, Salvador Silvestre Camp, ECIJA Valencia Partner, presented “The legal aspects that every startup should know about WhatsApp”. Among the topics discussed, questions were answered such as: What are the implications of breaching the T&C of WhatsApp Inc? What is the risk of breaching the current legislation related to WhatsApp? What does “legal diligence” mean in a startup? What risk can a startup assume by acting illegally, unlawfully or legally? What crimes will grow as a result of the growth in the use of WhatsApp? One more work of knowledge transfer and training of the CBC-UV. In addition, there was a pre-presentation of the book to be published in the coming months entitled “A chatbot ruined me“.

The other part of the team, Dr. Dariya Kanseitova, Dr. Rafael Lostado, Elena Bellido and Carla Rivas visited the stands of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Provincial Council of Valencia, Las Naves, Llamp, the European Business and Innovation Center of Valencia, among others, with the aim of strengthening relationships and establishing strategic alliances to enhance the achievement of the objectives set for 2023.
